Still is its RAF camouflage and serial, no props and splattered with bird droppings, the intended NZ2358 may never have carried its RNZAF serial. Many of the ex RAF Mosquitos acquired by the RNZAF in 1947-48 went straight to storage. RS693/NZ2358 was sold in 1955 with only 68 airframe hours most of which would have been amassed during the ferry flight from the UK to New Zealand. This was the last airworthy Mosquito and it was owned by British Aerospace. First flying in 1940 the Mossie was a very effective, fast, all wooden aircraft and over 7000 were built. Tragically, this aircraft crashed and was destroyed killing both crew at Barton, Manchester during a display on 27th July 1996.

Displayed suspended at IWM Duxford. This aircraft was built in June 1945 at Hatfield as a B.35 and went into storage with 22 MU. In 1953 the Mosquito was converted into a target tug and served with No. 3 Civilian Anti-Aircraft Co-operation Unit and No. 4 CAACU, towing target banners and working with radar stations till retired in 1963. It featured in '633 Squadron' and 'Mosquito Squadron' films. Badly damaged during a landing and fire, it was restored at Duxford in the yellow and black target tug scheme.

This aircraft is shown as taken on charge by RAF but there is no indication it crossed the Atlantic. It was used as a development aircraft for DHC built models. Built as an FB21, it played a part in the development of the FB24 and FB26, essentially testing the more powerful Merlin engines fitted to these variants. Only the latter went into production.
