Ah, the colourful days of the USN... the last USN Tracker squadron, VS-37, was disestablished in 1976 when the S-3A Viking took over the ASW role. 152806 was one of their aircraft and arrived at MASDC in 2.75 and seemingly has since been broken up like so many others

The only time I got to see an Indian Connie... but I'm not complaining, what a fine sight! First delivered to Air India as VT-DJW "Rani of Bijapur" in 7.58; passed to the Air Force in 4.62 after freighter conversion. The Indian military was forced to retire its Constellations when Air India would no longer perform maintenance on them due to lack of spares; BG579 made the final flight on 31.3.84. BG583 was wfu at Pune in 1983 and apparently moved to Agra for storage for the IAF Museum. It survived there until at least late 1998, but its current status is unclear.

St. Thomas was notorious among pilots for its short (then 4,658 ft) runway; the B727 was the heaviest type authorised to use it, and even then only in one direction. After the fatal crash of an AA 727 there in 4.76, the airline suspended jet service to the island and introduced Convairliners. This 440 was originally Garuda's PK-GCT in 1.58 and was b/u at Carlsbad in 1993. My arrival at STT was by Eastern - 727.... but I left on a Dak!

Imagine my amazement as I was driving along the Southend seafront one Saturday and saw a procession of four YS-11s land one after another, all the more surprising as I'd shot them nicely just two months before in Malta. The other three were ex-Piedmont and had their individual "Pacemaker" names suitably adapted. Although this one was previously Gabon Government's TR-KIA, they still gave it a Piedmont-style scheme and name, "Suez Canal Pacemaker". The four were on delivery to PBA. A major target for me after Google Earth checks; tantalisingly within view of the show area but off limits (determination paid off). Morocco received 18 Flying Boxcars from the US in the 1960s, some being ex-RCAF C-119Gs. This '862' is from its former USAF serial, 53-7862. Colours a bit suspect (note white-wall tyres!) but well done to the Moroccans for preserving her. Most in their service had USAF-style silver/white top colours. One other survives at Kenitra, possibly a third elsewhere.

One of two 157th FS F-16s at Aeroexpo. As the only wing in the USAF currently flying the Block 52 F-16, the 169th FW (McEntire ANGB, SC) was specially invited in view of the commonality to the 24 of this HTS-equipped variant now on order for Morocco. The flying demonstration will certainly have impressed the many African military dignitaries present
