Displayed from 1972 in Vietnam-style camouflage as a 1st SOW aircraft, with the incorrect '51' prefix applied. The unit badge with the legend "Any Time Any Place" was later removed when the aircraft was placed back on its undercarriage for display, along with 'TC' tail code added. Repainted in 2005 to basic USN-style grey to commemorate a Medal of Honour-winning mission in 1968, as per my 2024 photo

The first of what would become many aircraft placed preserved at the Hurlburt gate was unveiled in 1971. Initially mounted on a plinth, this Invader which had been converted from an A-26C to B-26K in 1965 was later displayed on its own landing gear and underwent various changes to its markings, ending up as shown in my December 2024 photo

Displayed in the markings carried during WWII while based in England, this P-51 was re-manufactured as a Mustang T.2 by Cavalier Aircraft Corp in 1967 with s/n 68-15796 for the US Army, used as a chase plane for flight trials between 1967 and 1975 from Edwards AFB, including the AH-56 Cheyenne program. Taken en-route over France on the way to an air show at Roanne. Before the Battle of Britain flight got the Lancaster and Dakota a Devon of 207 Squadron often provided the ground crew transport. On this occasion my late father Barry Taylor was the pilot and borrowed my camera to take these pictures. LF363 first flew on 01 Jan 1944 and was the last Hurricane to enter service with the RAF. Operated by the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight she is painted in the markings of 242 Squadron in 1940 when led by Douglas Bader.

On this occasion my late father Barry Taylor was the pilot and borrowed my camera to take these pictures. PM631 was built in Nov 1945 and entered service with the RAF in 1946 and joined 203 AFS between May 1949 and Jan 1950. Later flying with the Meteorological Research Flight before joining the BBMF on 14 Jun 1957. I am not sure of the squadron in this picture as code AD does not match a Spit sqn.
