Operated by the 509th BW based at Pease AFB, NH. 'Milk Wagon' nose art has been applied. The aircraft design and engine thrust enabled operations above 60,000 feet exceeding speeds of Mach 2.5. The terrain following radar was unique in its ability to fly the aircraft over obstacles as low as 200 feet, at speeds of Mach 1.1.
Static display during IAT 1991 "Gulf Salute". Was one of 18 F-111 involved in Apr 14, 1986 during "El Dorado Canyon" operation in response to Libyan-backed anti-American terrorist attacks. Now on display at the National Cold War Exhibition, part of RAF Museum Cosford.
