A rare shot of the former Aer Lingus 707 EI-ANV which was sold to United African of Libya in 6.81. Seen after preparation by ATEL for Air Rwanda, the lease was not taken up. After use by Jamahiriya AT, ended up spending most of the 1990s in store at Cairo in increasing derelict and sandy condition. Scrapped by the turn of the century

Seaboard World was the first customer for this 707 when new off the Boeing line in 2.68 but it was quickly sold to Varig just six months later. Taken over by the Brazilian AF as FAB2401 in 7.86 and served as a tanker-transport in a smart white-based scheme. Auctioned off for dismantling in 1.14

Only the second 707 ever to visit Southend, little did we know what an important part of the scene they'd become there 20 years or so later. Just six months old at the time of this shot, this late-build machine stayed with Nigeria Airways throughout its life until w/o in a crash after take-off from Lagos on 20.12.94

Starting life as VH-EBG with Qantas in 9.59 and sold to British Eagle in 3.68, this 707 then flew with Laker from 1.69 to 11.78. Her next 20 years were spent under US registry with various leasing firms but in 1998 she became 9Q-CLK. In 10.07 she underwent a luxury VIP fit in African style at Lanseria for the Congo owner, but then impounded by South African courts. However, flown out 31.10.07 and seen hangared at Kinshasa-N'djili 3.08. Overhauled at MIA and re-delivered to Congo govt in Dreamliner-style livery

This was one of the last civilian 707 airframes to be built and was delivered to Saudia as HZ-ACK in 6.77, being recruited by the government as HZ-HM3 two years later. Later repainted in the current Saudia colours and converted to tanker demonstrator in 2005 by Omega (N707MQ). I can remember seeing this machine as N525EJ regularly cruising up Red One in the late Sixties in its distinctive red Executive Jet Aviation c/s. Here on a diversion to Heathrow looking immaculate while taxiing out along the southside, she was flown by BCal for 15 years from 6.70 and converted to EC-137D for the USAF using its c/n as serial (with year of construction 67 as FY prefix), entering service in 1992. Into storage at DM in 6.02 and still there
