Canada's Regional 1 Airlines of Calgary rebranded as Aspire Airlines in the early summer of 2021 when it was only flying Dash 8-100, C-GWRI. This aircraft was delivered new to Germany in April 1988 (as D-BERT) and flew with Contact Air, DLT and Lufthansa CityLine. In Apr 1994 it joined the fleet of Era Alaska (as N882EA), and was later imported to Canada in Dec 2013 by Avmax (a leasing company) in Calgary, and flown by its Regional 1 subsidiary. Regional 1 used to fly lots of crew change flights to northern Alberta (until oil prices collapsed) and charters from YVR to salmon fishing resorts.

This DC-3 was manufactured on February 24th, 1940 for American Airlines as "Flagship Texas", and later served with the USAAF, Trans Alaska Airlines, Queen Charlotte Airlines (QCA), Pacific Western Airlines, Great Northern Airways and Trans Provincial Airlines. She was retired by Trans Provincial in 1972 and used for spare parts until abandoned at Terrace Airport. In 1987, Friends of the DC-3 - Canada transported the aircraft by road and sea to the Vancouver area. Canada's oldest surviving DC-3 is now displayed by the Canadian Museum of Flight in QCA colours at Langley Municipal Airport (YLY).

This Coulson Aircrane Sikorsky S-61N, C-FMAY was photographed from Bell JetRanger C-GXOH while logging red cedar at Torquart Bay on the west coast of Vancouver Island in February 2014. It previously flew with Court Helicopters in South Africa as ZS-HGU before joining the Coulson fleet in Feb. 1989 for heli-logging use. This Coulson Aircrane Sikorsky S-61N, C-FMAY was photographed from Bell JetRanger C-GXOH while logging red cedar at Torquart Bay on the west coast of Vancouver Island in February 2014. It previously flew with Court Helicopters in South Africa as ZS-HGU before joining the Coulson fleet in Feb. 1989 for heli-logging use. It previously flew for Greenlandair as OY-HBJ, Resorts International and Trump Air as N221RA, before imported to Canada in 1992. About one month after this photo was taken the aircraft crashed at Canoe Creek, BC on April 2 during logging operations and was destroyed by fire after the No.2 engine lost all power due an uncontained failure of the power turbine, then No. 2 quit. Two injured.

Canadian Forces CH-113A Labrador, 11307, parked at the Canadian Coast Guard heliport at Kitsilano Beach, Vancouver. This aircraft started life as the first Canadian Army CH-113 Voyageur and became a SAR helicopter when the Canadian Forces acquired eight CH-147 Chinooks in the mid-1970s. All the CH-113 Labradors and Voyageurs went through an upgrade program at Boeing Canada Ltd. of Arnprior, Ontario to expand their SAR capability and increase fleet commonality. The last Labrador was retired in 2004 with the delivery of new AgustaWestland (Leonardo) CH-149 Cormorant SAR helicopters.

It's seen here about to land on the Coast Guard heliport at Kitsilano Beach in downtown Vancouver. In 1985-1986, the Bo 105 replaced the Coast Guard's three long-serving single-engine Alouette III helicopters in British Columbia. This ALC Airlift MBB Bo 105 C-GSTV is seen landing at the Expo 86 heliport in downtown Vancouver, BC. Airlift was trying to break into the air ambulance market in western Canada with the Bo 105 and BK117 and eventually won a contract to be the original helicopter provider to the Shock Trauma Air Rescue Society (STARS) in Alberta. This helicopter was exported to the US in January 1989 as N750H. It was destroyed on the night of Dec 9, 1991 while flying a air ambulance mission from the Omniflight base at Ithaca, NY when it crashed at night near De Ruyter, NY with the loss of three lives.

Canadian Armed Forces CH-113A Labrador 11304 operated by 442 Squadron departs the Canadian Coast Guard hovercraft base on the south side of (YVR) Vancouver Airport. Commencing in 1978, six CH-113 Labradors and 12 CH-113A Voyageur helicopters when through an upgrade program at Boeing Canada Ltd. of Arnprior, Ontario to expand their search and rescue (SAR) capability. Phase One was an "Interim Avionics Program" and Phase Two was "Search & Rescue Capability Upgrade Program (SARCUP)" during which all the aircraft received high visibility yellow paint.
