With a typical cold morning start for L1011s with early RB 211 engines, N324EA begins its day. Too bad you can't hear and feel the rumbling drone as the engine slowly accelerates. Delivered to Eastern November 13, 1973, the aircraft would later fly with Cathay Pacific (VH-HOH) , Nordic East Airways and Blue Scandinavia (SE-DTC). Stored at Abu Dhabi in the late 90s, it was broken up there in 2004.

Originally a Convair 440 with National Airlines as N2043 in 1956, this Convair was bought by Allegheny Airlines in 1962. Converted by the airline to a Convair 580 in 1966, Aspen Airways leased it in December 1977 and bought it in June 1978. Final flight for the airliner was February 2, 1988 when it hit a snow bank on landing at Durango, CO. No one was injured, but the airplane was damaged enough to be written off.

In 1969, movie studio 20th Century Fox had several Japanese WWII aircraft replicas constructed for the movie "Tora Tora Tora". The Mitsubishi Zeros were modified North American T-6s (and Canadian built Harvards). This one is WWII veteran 41-17422 that was released to the civilian market in 1948. The aircraft is still flying with the markings from the Japanese carrier Akagi used for the movie.

Victory Aircraft Ltd delivered this Lancaster to the RCAF on August 21, 1946. Withdrawn from service and placed on display at Goderich June 14, 1964 it was officially struck off strength at the end of that month. The Lanc was acquired by the Canadian Warplane Heritage in 1977 and in one of the great feats of historical aircraft preservation, airlifted the bomber by helicopter to it's base at Hamilton in 1979 to restore it to flying condition over the next nine years.

Small jet engine manufacturer Williams International had Burt Rutan's Scaled Composites design and build the V-Jet II as a test bed and technical demonstrator. First flown in 1997, Eclipse Aviation was founded a year later to continue the concept and developed the design into the Eclipse 500. The sole V-Jet II was donated to the Experimental Aircraft Association Museum in 2001.

Leased by Canadian Airlines February 2, 1994, C-FNVU was painted in the new "Proud Wings" color scheme in 1999 as they began an image make-over. The airline did not have the cash to pull it off though, and was bought by Air Canada in 2000. The Airbus was painted in the Air Canada Tango color scheme in November 2001 before getting full Air Canada colors in 2003 when Air Canada Tango was re-integrated back into the main line. The aircraft is still current with the airline at the time of uploading.

This former USAF Albatross, 51-7186, was retired in 1968 and became part of the US Air Force Museum loan program. Spending time first with the Confederate Air Force Museum, it moved to various other places and was registered N4478E in 1984.
