A total of 107 B-47Bs were modified as trainers by the additional of a 4th seat for the instructor and deletion of the tail turret. This one went on to be designated as a JTB-47B in 1957 but reverted to TB-47B although redesignated NTB-47B in 1961. Was displayed at Florence Air and Space Museum from 1965, but more recently moved to the Mighty Eighth Heritage Museum, Pooler, GA, near Savannah Airport

This rescue helicopter was formerly displayed at Travis AFB, CA. The Huskie was notable for its intermeshing wooden rotors and was extensively used in Vietnam for recovery missions, and later for airbase fire-crash duties, known by the callsign "Pedro". Around 250 were built of which about a dozen have been preserved

The very first Starlifter to be built, making her maiden flight on 17.12.63, the 60th Anniversary of the Wright Brothers first flight. Spent entire career as a test aircraft with AFSC at Wright-Patterson in numerous programs, the last being to test a new tension rope for NASA towing a QF-106 in the air. One of four early C-141A's not converted to C-141B standard, all 270 in the main fleet undergoing the stretch. Joined C-141B 64-0626, parked alongside in 'lizard' camouflage

My first US trip included a highly rewarding excursion to the USAF Museum at Wright Field. This great old West Virginia ANG bird was shot from the pool of my nearby lodgings. In 1971 she visited Greenham Common, UK, from her Charleston base as a C-119G with 4-blade props but was modified to 'L' standard with 3 blades soon after. At one point she was also a test bed for Stealth technology, painted black with special $300/gallon paint. The frame still survives, exhibited at Fort Bragg, NC
