The first B-52 to fly, Featuring tandem seating as did the XB-52, all future models had a side by side flight deck. Seen here in May 1959 at the old Air Force Museum located on the Patterson side of Wright-Patterson AFB. The YB-52 was retired in the late 1950s to the museum, but the aircraft was scrapped in the mid-1960s because of a drive to get rid of excess military hardware.

Parked in the lot beside to original Air Force Museum, the F-107A was designed to the same requirement as the Republic F-105. Only 3 prototypes were built as the F-105 was chosen for production.

Seen at the conclusion of her pre-entry into service and renaming ceremony at Brisbane Eagle Farm.

Built as a Sunderland 3 at Windermere in 1943 and later converted to Mark 5 standard. Latterly operated by 205 Squadron based at Seletar and took part in the last RAF Sunderland sortie on 15 May 1959. Scrapped afterwards at Seletar. Image obtained from an RAF crew member 30 years ago.

Served the USAAF and USAF from June 1945 until stored at Davis Monthan in June 1973. Later served several civilian operators until damaged in a force landing in Alaska on 17 January 2007 when N82FA with Brooks Fuel Inc. 62 years of service - beat that you modern jets!

This was the last DC-6A built, delivered to Swissair in October 1958. It is departing Ringway for Gander on the Zurich-Idlewild (NY) freight schedule. Sold to World Airways in May 1961. Note the freight door, blanked-off windows and "Cargoliner" titles.
