To No. 408 (Tac Hel) Squadron, CFB Namao, Alberta, on 1 June 1971. First Twin Huey to this unit. Still with this unit in February 1995. Preserved, on display at the then RCAF Memorial Museum at Trenton, Ontario by December 2004, in UN colours.

Not sure how many Canadian Twin Hueys have ever been painted white? It was USArmy 70-15655 and was later sold to Colombia as EJC-227/CN-30.

Operated by 444 Squadron, this rescue Huey is awaiting its next mission at Goose Bay. Its previous identity with the USArmy was 70-15684 and it was later sold to Colombia as PNC-5008/N-09.

Operated by 430 Squadron, this Twin Huey is preparing to depart. It was ex USArmy 70-15693 before it went to Canada and it was later sold to Colombia as EJC-201/CN-13.

The fifty CH-135s (originally designated CUH-1Ns) interestingly had US serial numbers for paperwork that were never actually applied. This one is 70-15655 but delivered as 135106 April 19, 1971. Struck off strength in 1999 and stored at Mountainview, Ont, it was transferred to Colombian Army (EJC-227) in January 2001. With new serial EJC-4227 after 2013, the helicopter crashed at Quibdo, Colombia on March 19, 2023 after loss of control at low level. While video of the incident points to loss of the tail rotor, official cause has not been determined at the time of uploading.

Taken on strength by the Canadian Air Force April 19, 1971, this is one of a few CH-135s that have yet to be struck off strength. Most aircraft were returned to the USA for for service with the Colombian Army and Police. 135102 was placed on display at the RCAF Memorial Museum by December 2004 and wears markings used by Canada during peace keeping duties for the United Nations.

Painted for the 50th Anniversary of D-Day

This CH-135 was manufactured by Bell Aircraft Corporation at Forth Worth, TX in 1971. It was TOC by the RCAF and served throughout Canada, including SAR ops in Goose Bay, until the type was phased out of service in 1997. Now it is on display at the Canada Aviation & Space Museum at Rockcliffe.
