Built for USAAF as C-47B 44-76256. To Central Air Transport Corp as XT-722 in 1945. Later registered in the U.S. as N8329C, N4663V, and finally N99H. On 19 February 1971 during a takeoff from C.R.C. Crose airport near Houston, Texas a dragging brake resulted in a ground loop, causing substantial damage to the airframe. The a/c was written off, with the registration cancelled in September 1974.

Delivered to USAAF 23 October 1943. Participated in Operation Overlord (D-Day, 6 June 1944). After WWII it remained in Europe and was used in the Berlin Airlift. Transferred to Turkish Air Force in 1949, returned to U.S. in 1970, assigned to Ohio ANG. On 9 June 1973 it was dedicated in the Air Park, having been modified to represent an AC-47D.

Built as F4U-7 BuNo. 133714. Transferred new to France for the Aeronavale as 714 under the MDAP. Returned to the U.S. and was on display at the USMC Museum at Quantico, VA from 1964-1971. Reverted to civilian ownership, registered as N33714. It was used in the "Baa Baa Blacksheep" television series. Exported to Canada as C-GWFU from 1983-2004. Back to the U.S. as N811AP in July 2004. Reregistered as N965CV in February 2015. When I took this photo the a/c was undergoing maintenance at Tab Air, a warbird maintenance/restoration facility on the airfield.
