The first production Winjeel. Preserved at the RAAF Museum in 1977. Flown as VH-NTY from 1988 to 2002. Winjeel A100-349 formerly VH-FTS and A85-439 replaced it in the museum's historic flight

This is the first of 62 CA-25 Winjeels ("young eagle") to be built, making its maiden flight in February 1955. The earlier CA-22 design was revised to make spins easier to induce for training. The Winjeel's service was extended until 1975 when the Airtrainer took over, but a few were retained for Forward Air Controller work till 1984. 401 was taken on strength in August 1955 and served with 1 BFTS from early 1968, joining the RAAF Museum in 1977 for static display. Registered VH-NTY from 1988, it was flown as part of the RAAF's Historic Flight until 1995. Now back on static display.
