It first came into service with the USAF 43-48106 in July 1944 it served with Qantas under two different registration in December 1946 VH-EAO and in April 1957 as VH-EBX. In December 1960 it served with TAA carrying the registration VH-SBH it then went back to Qantas as VH-EDO in 1964 in december 1971 it served with Queensland Pacific Airlines, finally ending up with Bush Pilots Airways in June 1972 it has now been scrapped.

In 2007 this sad fuselage minus its cockpit section was donated by owners Aces High to the Wings Museum in Balcombe. They restored it and fitted it with the cockpit section from c/n 19074, and by 2010 this composite fuselage had been placed on display there, painted as 42-100766 "Lilly Bell II".
