Ex USAAF 43-2033, impressed in Dec 1942. Transferred to Aero O/Y in 1948, which became Finnair in 1953. Ten years later this C-53C was converted to DC-3(CF) by replacing the C-53 para door with C-47 type double cargo doors. In 1970 it was sold to the Finnish Air Force as DO-11. It served with them until withdrawn from use in December 1984 and stored at Utti. Airveteran acquired it in April 1986 and they restored it to flying condition and painted it in its wonderful original Aero O/Y colours, as seen here on finals to Lelystad on a grey day.

The Basler BT-67 is a fixed-wing aircraft produced by Basler Turbo Conversions of Oshkosh, Wisconsin. It is a retrofitted Douglas DC-3 airframe, with modifications designed to improve the DC-3's serviceable lifetime. The conversion includes fitting the airframe with Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6A-67R turboprop engines, lengthening the fuselage, strengthening the airframe, upgrading the avionics, and making modifications to the wings' leading edge and wing tip (Source: Wikipedia). VH-ANP was ordered for Eastern Air Lines but impressed as a C-49B while still on the production line and given the serial 41-7693. It served in Australia with the USAAF, RAAF and airline ANA using the callsign VHCDE. ANA purchased the aircraft in 1946 and converted it to DC-3 standard. At the time of the photo it was still in use but was withdrawn in June. Two years later it was scrapped at the airport after authorities refused to allow its removal. This was done to protect the prevailing Two-Airline Policy which rigorously controlled competition.
