The 1980s were still a time of big radial engines in Winnipeg. Local carriers like Ilford Riverton / Air Manitoba and Aero Trades Western had DC-3s, DC-4s, C-46s and a PBY kept busy flying north. CF-FNC was acquired by Ilford Riverton in 1982 and sold by Air Manitoba in 1990. It returned to Alaska with Everts Air Fuel as N1837M where it is still current at the time of uploading.

First flying with the Weapons Systems Naval Aviation Test Center, Patuxent River, MD, it was transferred back and forth between active Squadrons at NAS Whidbey Island and test centers in Patuxent River and China Lake. Ferried from NAS Patuxent River to the National Naval Aviation Museum in Pensacola, FL in 2010, it was the oldest serving Prowler when retired. Former USAF CT-39A 61-0650 was retired and stored at AMARC in 1984. Donated to Everett Community College for training in 1989, the aircraft is on display in front of the College at the time of uploading. The Air Force serial is incorrectly painted on the aft fuselage as 16-0650 (something I am far too familiar with writing photo captions).

Soon after Hughes Tool Company's aircraft division signed the contract to build OH-6As for the US Army in 1966, development of a civil version began. To be marketed as the Hughes 500, the first model made available was the 369HS, which was basically an OH-6A (minus military fittings) with a civil interior. Built in 1968 this second 369HS was delivered to Montreal based Helisolair as CF-DWI after the type received FAA certification in January 1969. Later registrations were N90958, N2Y and RP-C4902.
