I had seen this EC-121 in the Pima Museum in 1980, but by 1983 it had returned to MASDC, having been replaced in the Museum by another Constellation.

Delivered in 1953 as PH-TFU then re-registered as above. It made the first visit of a commercial Super Constellation to Heathrow (EGLL) on 3 September 1953. Initially a 1049C, but it would have been converted to 1049E by this time. Withdrawn at Amsterdam in November 1961 and scrapped in June 1963.

WFU since 1979. Reported to be broken up some point in 1990, but on time of photo was still there.

Built in 1957 and initially leased in Transocean livery, after which it was purchased outright and repainted as here. In 1969 it was acquired for the Biafra Airlift as CF-AEN then afterwards returned to Toronto and later languished at St. Hubert (CYHU) until scrapped in 1974.

Operated with Seaboard from new in 1954 and after a period of service with Capitol Airways it was scrapped at Wilmington/DE some time after 1967.

Delivered to TWA as 'Star of the Tagus' in 1957 and flew with them until 1967, being converted to a freighter in 1960. Sold to California Airmotive in 1967 and to Prudhoe Bay Oil Distributing in 1969 before being withdrawn from use and stored at Anchorage in 1971. Moved to the fire training area in 1977 and scrapped in the mid 1990s.

Delivered to Aerlinte Eireann as EI-ACR in 1947 then sold to BOAC as G-ALAK in 1948. Here on lease to Skyways, which ran until June 1962 when it was transferred to Euravia at Luton (EGGW). In 1965 it went to ACE Freighters, then languished at Coventry (EGBE) from 1966 to 1968 when it was delivered to Miami (KMIA) as CP-797. Sold as OB-R-899 with the manufacturer's plate transferred from c/n 2549. Believed scrapped at Lima, Peru in the 1970s.

Built in 1947 for Qantas as VH-EAA and flown on the Royal Tour of 1954. Sold to BOAC in 1955 and here being operated by Skyways in their turquoise/red livery. On 13 September 1964, while registered LX-IOK with Interocean Airways, it was wrecked at Addis Ababa (HAAB) in a runway overrun.

Survived with N7316C, parked at Auburn-Lewiston, Maine adjacent to owner Maurice Roundy's house. Flew with TWA from 1958, then acquired by Alaska Airlines as a freighter in 1962, passing through a number of hands from 1968, initially as a bulk oil carrier. Arrived here in 1986. Bought by Lufthansa at a bankruptcy auction in 2007 as part of a restoration project. Not then flyable due to wing corrosion and used as a spares source for N7613C. Refurbished for static display in original TWA colours. Currently in use as a cocktail bar at the TWA Hotel adjacent to the old TWA terminal at JFK Airport.

A US Navy WV2 from 1958, then converted in 1962 to an NC-121K and allocated to VXN-8 Oceanographic Air Survey Unit at NAS Patuxent River as JB925, an airborne geophysical laboratory. Used in Project Magnet to gather magnetic data to improve oceanic navigational charts. Seen here overnighting at Prestwick during one of its several weeks long international detachments. Its red bomb-like towed magnetometer can just be seen wound up to the fuselage underside mounting between the main wheels. It carries a cartoon of the Paisano bird, also known as the Roadrunner. Retired in 1973.

Something of a tourist attraction in Santa Cruz, even having its own Wikepedia page, the Avión Pirata as the Connie is known, has been in Bolivia since being forced to land El Trompillo airport in 1961 by the Bolivian Air Force, suspected smuggling contraband such as cigarettes, textiles and whiskey. Placed in its current location in 1979 the aircraft has subsequently been used as a library, a bank and a travel agency. Later painted in Pepsi colours, it also spent several years in the colours of local airline Aerosur.
