This airframe was delivered in 1954 as an L-1049C, before it had undergone some modifications in 1956, which made it an L-1049E. The registration was cancelled in 1965 and the aircraft was scrapped for the parts to be sold.

TCA's L-1049E is at Heathrow's eastern maintenance area - taken through an open window in the public tour bus that ran from Heathrow North. CF-TGG served TCA only from 20.07.54 until crashing on approach to Toronto on 17.12.54.

"Southern Mist" arrives at Heathrow North from Australia a few months after delivery. Later updated to L-1049G and remained with Qantas until sale to Boeing in February 1963.
