Built by the Canterbury Aviation Company at Sockburn (later Wigram) aerodrome. First flight at the hands of the company CFI C.M. Hill took place on January 17, 1919. Hill was killed in the aircraft on February 1 when the wings failed while performing aerobatics over the Riccarton racecourse not far from Sockburn.
