Delivered to the Canadian Air Force in August 1979 with a convertible cargo-passenger interior, this Dash 7 was based in Germany. Most photographed in Europe during the six years with the Air Force or on loan to DeHavilland Canada for display at major air shows, it was sold back to DHC in September 1985. Leased to Air Atlantic as C-GILE before sold to Markair in December 1987. Withdrawn and stored in 1992, the airliner was bought by Conair in November 1995 when the Markair shut down their Alaska operations. Frequently leased out by Conair, it was sold to Trans Capital Air in August 2002.
