Former US Air Force 44-74536 finished its military career in the mid 50s and was sold as surplus in 1958 for $3,700. First registered N5452V, followed by N991RC in 1966 and N991R circa 1969, it has been a very frequent racer at Reno until 2012. The famous Mustang is now flying out of the Oklahoma Museum of Flying.

This was the prototype 10-B Electra and after testing served EAL on their NY to New Orleans and Chicago to Miami routes. Wears EAL's "The Great Silver Fleet" titles. Sold to Northwest Airlines in July 1937 on replacement by DC-3s. Impressed in WW2 as UC-36C 42-57222. Postwar to Brasil AF as 1325 and then to Varig as PP-VAU in June 1946. Crashed 18 October 1952.
