This was the prototype 10-B Electra and after testing served EAL on their NY to New Orleans and Chicago to Miami routes. Wears EAL's "The Great Silver Fleet" titles. Sold to Northwest Airlines in July 1937 on replacement by DC-3s. Impressed in WW2 as UC-36C 42-57222. Postwar to Brasil AF as 1325 and then to Varig as PP-VAU in June 1946. Crashed 18 October 1952. From EAL 60 years ago.
