Ex 3 CAACU at Exeter, registered on 8 July 1963 as G-ASKC. Used for the film '633 Squadron' flying as HJ898 H-TG and following filming, arrived at Staverton for the Skyfame collection in December 1963. The registration was cancelled on 3 September 1964 following an accident and the aircraft remained at Staverton in a deteriorating condition until moved to Duxford when Skyfame closed in 1978. While banking a little to the left, XV196 (FMS serial 65-13041) is arriving at Alconbury during a logistic flight. The C1 was delivered to the Royal Air Force on 23 June 1967 and assigned to the Lyneham Transport Wing (LTW). In the course of its entire career it flew with this Wing. The Herc made its last flight on 4 September 2013 from RAF Brize Norton to St. Athan where it was stored. Although attempts were made to sell it, the aircraft was scrapped in 2017. A few remaining parts are reportedly moved to Old Sarum (UK) with the Boscombe Down Aircraft Collection.
