Delivered to the Royal Navy as XS863 in 1965. To the Imperial War Museum at Duxford in 1981. Still in the A&AEE Boscombe Down colours it arrived in. Later repainted into Royal Navy colours.

First flown in April 1965 and joined 815 NAS at Culdrose, transferring to 826 NAS in October 1967. Taken up by the RAE in red/white colours in 1971, moving over to A&AEE in 1973. Acquired by the IWM in 1981 and immaculately restored to its original markings

Operated by A&AEE Boscombe Down. In use with a number of other helicopters, airlifting supplies into remote locations on Dartmoor cut off by a very heavy snowstorm. Now displayed at IWM Duxford in Royal Navy marks coded R-304.

This Wessex entered service in 1965 and is now enjoying its retirement in AirSpace at the IWM Duxford. Of course, a much more side-on shot would have been nicer but that ugly, yellow info-board was in the way.
