Attack aircraft design with two vertically stacked Rolls-Royce Nene engines. What looks like the cockpit here is the dorsal air intake - the type was soon nicknamed Bossu (hunchback). The official name Grognard (grumbler) refers to a soldier of Napoleon's Old Guard. First flight on 30 April 1950. One SE.2410 and one two-seat SE.2415 built. Programme already dead by the time of the 1953 Paris Air Show, terminated in favour of Sud-Ouest SO-4050 Vautour. Note Sud-Est (SNCASE) logo on tail. This Harrier was first flown as a GR1 on 4 January 1972 and delivered to the RAF on 14 August 1972. It was converted to GR1A and later to GR3. It served 3 squadron and was sadly written off on 6 June 1976 following an engine failure after a turbine blade broke off. It crashed near Borken (Germany). Luckily, the pilot was able to eject to safety

The Étendard IVM was originally to have been replaced by a navalised version of the Jaguar, designated as the Jaguar M, but the project was dogged by a combination of political problems and issues experienced during trial deployments on board carriers. It suffered handling inadequcies when being flown on a single engine and a poor throttle response time that made landing back on a carrier after an engine failure difficult. In 1973, all development work on the Jaguar M was formally cancelled by the French government
