A Canadian-Vickers built Canso, a license-built Catalina, was obtained by Sweden on 28 June 1949. It wassigned to F2 at Hägernäs, which was responsible for the air rescue service of the Swedish Air Force. In 1960, the Catalina would be taken out of service, but 47001 soldiered on until 1966. Its last flight was on 1 August 1966, to Malmen, where it joined the collection of the excellent Flygvapenmuseum.

This F-22A Block 1 made its first flight on 12 Oct'02. It became an operational test and tactics development aircraft and was officially redesignated to F/A-22A on 17 Sep'02. The Raptor was assigned on 23 Oct'02 to the Dedicated Initial Operational Test & Evaluation (DIOT&E) program at Palmdale (CA). Was rebuilt to F/A-22 Block 10, started to fly with the Follow-On Test and Evaluation (FOT&E) modifications from Palmdale, was moved to the Night Air-to-Air Refuelling (NAAR)-modifications at Palmdale from Jul'05. This former New Zealand Air Force A-4K Skyhawk (serial NZ6218) is now operating with a US commercial aggressor company based in Lakeland (FL). The Skyhawk still carries the colors of its once owner, but received a new serial and large Draken markings on its tail and fuselage.

The third production Alouette II had quite an interesting career. Taken on strenght by the ALAT in June 1956, she was extensively used in the Algeria war. After having been decomissioned and registered F-GIJE, she flew a very lenghty trip from Paris to... Ushuaïa, via Scotland, Island, Greenland, Newfoundland and all the way down through the Americas! She finally hit the headlines on the 2 July 2018, when she was hijacked and used for a prison escape of a very high profile gangster. Sadly she was partly burnt by the hijackers after this event.

Built in 1960 for the Soviet AF, registered CCCP-64457 to MAP Omsk Motors in 1976, transferred to MAP Kaluga Motors in 1988 and Santa Cruz Imperial in 1996. Reregistered EL-WVA in December 1997, quickly changed to EL-WHL in January 1998 - my Nov 2000 photo at Kigali here
