The aircraft was retired to the MASDC "Boneyard" at Davis Monthan AFB, Tucson, in 1960. In 1974 it was acquired by the Aero American Corp., registered N87666 and re-located to Ryan Field where it remained unconverted until broken up for parts c.1982; the registration was cancelled in May 1984.

Before being ferried to the USA this aircraft, which still carried its former Spanish Air Force serial T3-40 on the fin, was once briefly, (April 1978 - January 1980), registered G-BFPW and parked at Blackbushe. After service with a number of small operators in Florida it was parked at Fort Lauderdale in 1988 until being acquired by Basler of Oshkosh in May 1991, but after corrosion was found on the airframe it was parted out for spares the following year.

Photographed at the airfield then known as Avra Valley, but now re-named Marana Regional Airport. After retirement from Spanish Air Force service, it's former serial T3-33 is still visible on the fin, it was briefly G-BGCF with Doug Arnold's Fairoaks Aviation Services before taking up the US marks. It is now displayed wearing its original USAAF serial 43-16130 at the Barksdale Global Power Museum, Barksdale, LA.

Photographed at what was then known as Avra Valley Airport, since renamed Marana Regional Airport. After wartime service with the RAF as KG619 the aircraft passed to the Spanish Air Force as T.3-2 until being sold off as G-BGCE in 1978, and then going to the USA as N37529. In the 1980s it was of a number of old propliners based at McAllen, TX., and used to smuggle consumer goods into Mexico until its luck ran out and it was impounded there in January 1990. It was last reported as a derelict hulk at Oaxaca - Xoxocotlan International Airport registered as XA-ION.

A6-SHA Hamarein Air (and still in their basic cols), EC-CDA Air Spain and N8608 Eastern Air Lines of origin. Acquired by Bursa Airlines Mar 80. Arrived Maastricht early Apr 81 for storage. Reported broken up Dec 84 with total flight time of 42323 hours. The nose section became an exhibit on the top of the spectators terrace at Frankfurt Airport until it closed. I have no further confirmed information after that.

Not later than Sep 87 it went to Zimex Aviation as HB-ILF. On 14 Oct 87 it crashed 40Km west of Kuito, Angola, 4 minutes after departure. The number 3 engine had exploded and it is believed this may have been due to it being hit by a surface-to-air missile.
