The original prototype Constellation was converted to the prototype L-1049 Super Constellation and flew in varied test programs. The aircraft was fitted with an Allison 501D turboprop in the number 4 engine position during the Electra development program. The original prototype Constellation was converted to the prototype L-1049 Super Constellation and flew in varied test programs. The aircraft was fitted with an Allison 501D turboprop in the number 4 engine position during the Electra development program. This aircraft was bailed from the USAF to Lockheed for use in Operation Hourglass, as part of the Electra program. The Blume 502 was developed from the Blume 500 in the late 1950's by Walter Blume. The aircraft wasn't very succesful and only 2 examples were built. On May 16, 1982, the aircraft was damaged beyond repair in an emergency landing at Langenlonsheim. However, a restoration project started in 1999 and the aircraft was restored to flying condition in 2016 at Koblenz-Winningen.
