Delivered as a Convair 340 to Braniff as N3419 3rd Apr 1953 and transferred to Allegheny Airlines Oct 1966. Converted to Convair 580 and re-registered N5820 8th Feb 1967, still with Allegheny. To Seair Alaska Apr 1978 and became C-GKFQ with Kelowna 28th Sep 1987

Operated by Seair Alaska (formerly Sea Airmotive) from 1978 until the company collapsed in August 1986, just before this picture was taken. Kelowna Flightcraft bought it the following year and it later went to Colombia, flying, initially as HK-3559X, and later as HK-3559 with Aerovias Especiales del Carga (AVESCA) and Aerocar. Seized by the authorities at Bogota in 1995 it was transferred to the Colombian Army in 1996 as EJC-121

After conversion from CV-340 in 2.67, continued to fly for Allegheny (N5820); to Seair Alaska 4.78, Kelowna 9.87 (C-GKFQ) and Evergreen (N580EH) 10.88. Sold to Aerovias Especiales de Carga 2.90 then Aerocar 6.94. My friend Nicky from Switzerland was with me and took the same shot - when his was published in the next JP, they cloned out the 727 behind as it if had never been there! Aircraft taken by Colombian Army as EJC121 in 8.96 and operated in same basic colours
