slide scan from the NK collection. - THY Turkish Airlines operated 16 B-707's, two ex QANTAS and the rest ex Pan American. 1959-built TC-JBN was one of the former QANTAS aircraft, and Turkish Airlines used it during 1976 and 1977.

slide scan from the NK collection. - Air Commerz was a short-lived german charter airline, and between 1970 and 1972 two Vickers Viscounts and two Boeing 707s were operated. This Boeing survived with many further operators until 1998, when an arsonist destroyed its cockpit while being parked at Port Harcourt. Last registration was N138SR.

With Pacific Western Airlines from 1967 to 1978, this 707 was historically VH-EBA, the first jetliner for QANTAS Airways. Since Boeing kept it for developing the 5th pod spare engine system, it was the second actually delivered to Australia. Qantas Foundation Memorial Ltd bought the aircraft in 2006 after 5 years of storage at Southend, UK. It was flown back to Australia as VH-XBA (EBA was in use) for display at the Qantas Founders Museum.

N792SA awaits delivery to Standard Airways. The airline closed down in August 1969. The aircraft was stored until it was leased to Air Commerz in West Germany as D-ADAQ in March 1971.

A search on VP-BDE will almost invariably come up with the much later use of the registration on an Aeroflot DC-10F, but here is the first one. Another Qantas original, this was originally their VH-EBE, sold as N793SA in 5.68. Leased to Pacific Western as CF-PWW and seen here after preparation for another lease (Bahamas World also had VP-BDF & BDG). Sold by TAG to Boeing in 4.83 for KC-135 spares reclaimation; remains stored and later b/u at Davis Monthan
