It has not been seen since decades, and rumours say that the aircraft could have been one of those destroyed during an Iraqi bomb raid at Shiraz in 1986. slide scan from the NK collection. - Ariana bought this Boeing 727 from World in 1971 and kept it in their fleet until October 2001, when it was destroyed by a bomb raid at Kabul. The colours were occasionally adjusted for some leases to other airlines; otherwise, the scheme remained unchanged, only the Afghan flag disappeared in later years.

N771BA was delivered to BerlinAir Taxi as a new aircraft and visited Munich-Riem a few months after delivery. This aircraft kept its US-registration for all of its life and is still current in the FAA register in 2022. I found reports of its last activities in 2019, apparantly in use for aerial photography in Europe.
