slide scan from the NK collection. - The Swiss Air Ambulance started into the jet age with this Learjet 24D, which was operated from 1973 until 1977. The small jet, today nearly fifty years old, is registered as ZS-OEA and was noted in storage in quite good condition at Wonderboom in 2021.

Became YV-C-VIG with VIASA in Jul 1974. Re-reg YV-129C in Nov 75.

Served just a couple of years between 1997 and 2001. Ex Air UK G-UKLD and sold to Air One as EI-CWE.

PH-DCM had KLM livery on the port side and Viasa on the right side. It also flew Philippine Airlines services into Sydney. It is not known if this photo was the weekly KLM service to Sydney or one of the PAL services that switched to a KLM flight number at Singapore. KLM services out of Sydney stopped at Manila in 1969, as they had done since the days of the Super Constellation. By 1971 the need for speed saw KLM's now twice weekly DC-8-63 service go directly to Singapore. -DCM became YV-C-VIG with Viasa in 1974.

PH-DCM was one of the most photographed KLM DC-8s because it had KLM colours on the left side and Viasa colours on the right. Much less common are photos of it also marked "Operated by PAL" as seen in Sydney in 1966.
