slide scan from the NK collection. - Ariana bought this Boeing 727 from World in 1971 and kept it in their fleet until October 2001, when it was destroyed by a bomb raid at Kabul. The colours were occasionally adjusted for some leases to other airlines; otherwise, the scheme remained unchanged, only the Afghan flag disappeared in later years.
