Exceedingly difficult to satisfactorily photograph whole! This C-47 is actually VH-BAA, which flew with Brain & Brown Airfreighters until 1979, painted to represent VH-EWE of Connellan Airways colours as operated from here at the old Alice Springs airport. Now looking much better than when I saw her in 2015. Marked up as a D-Day C-47, she was originally built for the USAAF as TC-47B-35-DK s/n 44-76884, transferred to the US Navy as R4D-7 BuNo 99838. The real 42-100558 went to Uruguay, is now preserved there as 510, and can be seen elsewhere on this site.
