PBA and Bar Harbor Airlines operated as feeder airlines for Eastern Airlines and their fleets, re-branded as such in the 1980s, were a familiar sight at Miami until Eastern collapsed in 1991. N35PB has since spent time in Ecuador and Honduras but is current with a Cape Cod MA. based owner as N61981 at time of upload.

Built in May 1940 as a DST (Douglas Sleeper Transport) NC25685 for American Airlines, fitted with right hand pax door. Served USAAF 1942/44 as C-49E 42-56104. Returned to AA. Modified as DC-3A with left-hand door. Served PBA from 03.70 until 1991, latterly on schedules from Miami to Naples and Key West. Stored in 2010.

Built as a DST-217B for American, NC25685. Used by the USAAF as C-49E 42-56104. Postwar converted to DC-3A, regns include N25685, HC-BZQ, N144FS, HR-AQI and N61981.

Built in May 1940 for American Als as a right-hand door DST (Douglas Sleeper Transport). Impressed by USAAF as C-49E 42-56104. Converted to left-hand door with Braniff by August 1952. With N-PBA from March 1970 with possibly the longest fuselage titles ever!
