VH-KKL crashed at Cobbitty, on Sydney's south-western outskirts, on June 30, 1977. All three on board died when the aircraft dived into ground after pilot suffered a heart attack. It appears the backseat passenger tried unsuccessfully to fly the aircraft. Despite the severe damage, 22 years later it returned to the register as VH-AUM.

KKK carries no sinister connotations in Australia and this VH-KKK was the third. Registered in June 1965, the Bonanza was particularly accident-prone in the late 1970s, , with incidents in 1977, 1978 and 1979 that resulted in periods off the register. Since January 1980 all has been well and was current in October 2017.

VH-KIK arrived in Australia in 1981, a seemingly ordinary Cessna 172. But it was in fact the first aircraft for the Singapore Air Force, acquired from the Singapore Flying Club (9V-BBP) in September 1968 and given the serial AF100. It was to serve until 1979, when it returned to 9V-BBP before being sold in Australia.

VH-KIB crashed at Mount Sorrell, Tasmania, on May 30, 1979. The aircraft slammed into trees while trying to climb. Remarkably, all three on board survived with only minor injuries. They were winched out because of the inaccessible terrain but not before a chainsaw was lowered so they could clear the way. Presumably, -KIB is still there.
