VH-UUY landed at Bathurst on July 12, 1965, with the undercarriage partially extended. Airframe found to be in poor condition and the aircraft was left to the weather and vandals. Little more that scraps of timber and plywood by the early 1970s.
Preparing to depart after dropping off a load of passengers bound for the Bathurst 1000 car race. Quick turnarounds were essential to clear the limited apron space for other airliners that came from as far as Perth for the big event.
It's funny what you find just sitting around at country aerodromes! This former Polish Air Force aircraft arrived in Australia and was stored, disassembled, at Bankstown in 1994-5. It was registered VH-REH(6) on 4 April 1995. I've never seen it before and by the look of it, it doesn't fly very often.
