On display at the 1989 RAF Lakenheath Airshow. Leased to The Fighter Collection at Duxford. Carries different markings on the starboard side, with the name "Candyman". Taken on strength by the USAAF in February 1945 as 44-73149. Transferred to the RCAF in 1947 as a Mustang TF.IV, 9568. Put into storage in 1954. Civilian career from 1957 included air racing in the 1970s.

Post-war CAC production, taken on RAAF charge in November 1947. Struck off at RAAF Tocumwal April 1958 & sold for scrap 1960. Rescued from scrapping by Titus Oates & subsequently passed through the hands of Adastra Airways before ending up on a farm at Jerilderie, NSW. Operated from Jerilderie from August 1964. Purchased by Bob Eastgate October 1970 & registered VH-BOB. Flown to Essendon March 1973 for restoration. First flight post-restoration February 1976. Fresh out of a major rebuild.

Airworthy P-51D "Spam Can" in the colors of 462nd FS, 506th FG based at Iwo Jima in 1945 as flown by Capt JJ Grant inside the hangar at Planes of Fame Air Museum. The 506th FG was tasked with Very Long Range (VLR) missions over Japan, with inclement weather en route as much a threat. This aircraft was delivered on 26 July 1945 and immediately went into storage. In 1947 it went to the 31st FG serving under SAC. Later it served with ANG units in Tennessee, Vermont and West Virginia. The museum acquired the Mustang in Nov 1957, making it the longest privately-held P-51D under the same owner.

My first photo of this fine P-51D Mustang, originally built in 1944, opb USAAF as 44-73877. 1951 9279 for RCAF, 403sqc at Calgary. 1958 sold to the first civil owner as N6320T. April 29th 1968 N167F Finefrock, Oklahoma until damaged September 1st 1969 while taxing at air show in Texas, collided with another Mustang. Rebuilt and rejoined with Finefrock until 1980. September 1980 sold to Scandinavian Historic Flight, and rebuilt at Fort Colllins, Colorado. First post-restoration flight made in 1985. 2001 repainted, still N167F.. Registered in June 2022 ex ZK-SAS. While this aircraft did see service with the RAAF it is not a Commonwealth built aircraft

Initially developed by Cavalier Aircraft as the Turbo Mustang III. Renamed as the 'Enforcer', the project was sold to Piper in 1970 and two Mustang airframes (one single and one two seat) were converted with the addition of Lycoming YT55-L-9A turboprops. No orders were forthcoming and it wasn't until 1979 that Piper secured funds to construct two completely new build aircraft as Pa48 Enforcers. Although evaluated by the USAF, the aircraft were owned and operated by Piper and received no military designation or serials. Despite performing well in their role, no orders were ever placed.

This is A-36A, 42-83738, is one of only three A-36 a/c still in existence. This a/c was restored by the Collings Foundation and won the Grand Champion Warbird Restoration award at the 2012 EAA convention.

This very patriotic coloured Mustang 'Miss America' (former 44-74536) is the most widely recognized Reno air racer. It has raced over 21 years and won the Reno Air Race back in 1994. Please note also the colour of the pilot's helmet.
