Visiting Gilze Rijen in the early morning, together with a sister Chinook. This RAF Chinook was delivered on 30 August 1981 as a HC1, it was later converted to HC2. The heavy lift helicopter was damaged during a night training mission with Special Forces in Oman, 5 miles south of Seeb on 25 November 1999. It was flown back to Brize Norton on 13 Dec'99 aboard An-124 (RA-82046) and repaired at Fleetlands using parts of former a Argentinian Army CH-47C. It was converted to HC4 in 2014 and to HC6A in 2019.

Delivered to the RAF on 30 July 1969 and scrapped at Leuchars in 1995.

First flight on 14 January 1969, delivered to the RAF on 8 April 1969 and withdrawn from use far away from the UK, at Mount Pleasant, Falklands in October 1991. The Phantom was scrapped at this location in August 1992.

One of around 22 aircraft which gathered for "The First London Plane Show" on the South Bank of the River Thames by Waterloo Bridge. The Plane Show ran from 18th May to 28th May 1973. XR658 was DBR when the canopy disintegrated in flight on 26th October 1971. Allocated maintenance serial 8192M. Exhibited here by the RAF Exhibition Flight. Current with the RAF Manston History Museum in 2022.

This was one of three R1s. It was on a post maintenance testflight from Kinloss when things went wrong on 16 May'95. After 35 min of flight, following an anti-icing system test, No4 and No3 engine fire warnings illuminated. Whilst the crew were carrying out the fire drill, a rear crew member confirmed that the R1 was on fire and reported that panels were falling away from the starboard wing. After 2 explosions, the captain feared for the structural integrity and decided to ditch in the North Sea before he lost control authority. The R1 bounced twice, broke apart and sank, seven crew survived.

Delivered to the RAF as XW291 in 1969. Sold as G-BWOF in 1996. Preserved at Coleg Cambria, Connah's Quay, Flintshire, Wales from 2018. Cancelled from the register in 2022.

Delivered to the RAF on 2 January 1968, and stored at Fleetlands since early 1997. It was moved to Gosport late 1997, left by road to Benson in April 2002, reported again at Gosport in May 2003 (up to January 2012 and then seen as a road runner to Hixon early 2012. Stored there and moved to Air & Ground location at Shirleywich. Again seen stored, but then at Culham Adventure Land in April 2013. It was said to be sold a new owner in France but was still in that Advanture Land early 2020. What an effort for this beautiful Wessex... it deserves some rest ;-)

Originally built as a F-4M and first flown on 20 November 1968. It was delivered to RAF 2sq, on most probably 31 January 1969. XV430 is seen here afterits arrival from homebase RAF Wildenrath (Germany) at the static of Koksijde. At that time, already redesignated to FGR2. After a long operational career, the Phantom was withdrawn from use on 5 July 1991. It was first stored for a period at RAF Wattisham, but then scrapped at that location in February 1992.

Destroyed in a fatal crash in the Falkland Islands in 1983.

First flown December 1956 and saw service with 230 Squadron in Cyprus in 1958 and in the Far East with 209 Squadron from 1964 to 1968. Made its final flight at Seletar in August 1968 and allocated to the RAF Museum with maintenance serial 8034M. Returned to the UK and stored at Henlow for several years before display at the newly opened Manchester Air And Space Museum in 1982. Moved to Cosford in June 2003 and Hendon in June 2014 for display in Omani markings as 'XL554'. Returned to Cosford for further storage in October 2015.
