5V-TAC was just one year old when it visited Munich-Riem in 1977. Sixteen years later, I met this aircraft again, this time as N120GS at Las Vegas (see photo ID 364407). And finally, in 2020, the aircraft was abandoned in Belize after a drug run as XA-CVS.

slide scan from the NK collection. - One of the few DC-8's which is preserved in a museum! Recently seen at Detroit-Willow Run MI (in March 2021), this aircraft was never converted into a -73 version, and it served as a freighter with Murray Air / National Airlines as N865F until 2012. Much earlier, Austrian Airlines used the DC-8 for about one year only - obviously no economical success in the Austrian fleet.

slide scan from the NK collection. - Saturn had three DC-8-61CF's and used them between 1967 and 1975. N8955U found its final operator in 1985: UPS bought it and converted it into a version -71F. It was flown as N748UP on regular freight services until 08/FEB/2006, when it arrived at Philadelphia PA with fire on board; the DC-8 burnt out after the emergency landing.

slide scan from the NK collection. - The Coronado was one of the fastest airliners ever, and Swissair bought eight of them for delivery in 1961 and 1962. One of those was lost after a bomb explosion near Zurich, the rest of the fleet was withdrawn in 1974. Two were scrapped (including HB-ICF), four were sold to Spantax, and one was transferred to the Verkehrshaus at Luzern, where it has been displayed ever since.
