This South African L-100 Hercules was in use by Dutch forces during their operations in and over Afghanistan. The Safair Hercules was leased to the Netherlands for tactical transport duties. When needed, the civvie Herc was also used by other coalition nations.

FMS serial 66-8550 was delivered to the Lyneham Transport Wing on 29 July 1967. It was damaged Cat.1 on 27 August 1999 when it got stuck in mud at a landing zone near Shawbury (UK). But as a good workhorse, the Herc was repaired by Marshalls at Cambridge and returned to service. It is seen here in take-off from the single runway of Kandahar during an Operation Herrick mission. The C1 made its last flight on 18 April 2013 from Brize Norton to St.Athan, was stored and stripped for spares. Then it was sadly scrapped by 2017.

Unarmed, white with a red cross, the crew hopes this is sufficient for not being shot. On 27 Sep 2000, this Beech was substantially damaged at Durban King Shaka Int'l AP after an service bus collided with the right-hand wing of the aircraft. The pilot stated that no beacon lights or lights were displayed and that the driver of the bus was taken away for an alcohol blood test. Temporary repairs were carried out on the airport, Beech was later on ferried to Virginea. It became N474LC with Alpine Aviation on 29 Dec 2017.

Delivered to the US Marine Corps on 26 February 2002 and from thsat moment assigned to Marine Aerial Refueler Transport Squadron (VMGR) 252 "Otis". The tanker transporter was flying logistic supply missions before the arrival of HMH-365 Reinforced at Kandahar.

Once delivered to the US Army as an OH-58A with serial 72-21112. The Kiowa was converted to OH-58D(I) Kiowa Warrior in 1996. The US Army used the AH-58D designation, but that was not official. After service life the Kiowa Warrior was stored at 309th AMARG on 22 April 2015. It left the storage depot on 15 March 2019 and was sold to Greece by April 2019. Its Greek ES-serial is not known.

Leaving Kandahar for another Operation Herrick mission as part of the international Operation Enduring Freedom.

Former Boeing test registration N2138T. Delivered the Australian Army Aviation, 5th Aviation Regiment/C-Squadron on 19 February 2001. Named Courage and deployed to Kandahar during Operation Enduring Freedom. The Aussie Chinook was withdrawn from use on 26 May 2016 and moved to Oakley (QLD) as a Maintenance Systems training aid.

Assigned to 9Regt and acting as force protecting for a Dutch Chinook mission to Uruzgan. The mission went well, and this AH7 returned safely at its deployment base Kandahar. This Lynx was first flown on 16 July 1980, was delivered to the Army Air Corps as an AH1 on 4 August 1980. The helicopter was withdrawn from use in December 2013 and stored at Middle Wallop. It was stripped for spares and sold as scrap on in May 2014. It was then seen as stored with Everett Aero at Sproughton, then with the Delta Force Paintball Center at Upminster and later with the same company at Romsey.

Rolling down the runway's end, making an one-eighty and blasting away for another anti-Taliban mission over Afghanistan. This combat proven Rafale C was sold to Greece as 410. It was delivered on 19 January 2022.

In the dusty Afghan environment, this Dutch Chinook is leaving its deployment base Kandahar for a mission to Uruzgan. D-106 was sold to Billings Flying Services in Billings (MT) as N616BV in 2024.

Former Cessna test registration N5061W was delivered as a UC-35A to the US Army possibly in 1999. The aircraft later modified to UC-35A-1 and received a grey paint job. The aircraft arrived at Kandahar with a VIP, visiting the huge US Army aviation component deployed to Aghanistan.

Delivered to the USMC in Q2/2003, and right away assigned to Marine Aerial Refueler Transport Squadron (VMGR) 252 "Otis" at MCAS Cherry Point (NC). The Herc flew up to mid-2012 with the squadron as was then moved to Air Test and Evaluation Squadron (VX) 20 "Force" at NAS Patuxent River (MD). It returned to VMGR-252 in early 2018, and when this picture was uploaded, the C-130 still serves Otis. It is seen here resting at one of the platforms of Kandahar during a logistic supply mission for HMM-365(Reinforced) that arrived at Kandahar for a combat tour, while brother 166380/BH-380 just arrives.

This Hercules was sold to Poland as 1513 in mid-2023. It was moved to OGMA Alverca in Portugal for modification in late 2023. By the time of this photo upload, it was not yet reported as a Polish aircraft.

A CONDOR in the Afghan war zone. Line # 07-08 was delivered in 1993 and named 'Boris Naginski' on 29 December 2007 after the Deputy General Manager of Polet. The An-124 was last noted as an operational aircraft in early December 2008. A new CofR was issued on 7 October 2011 burt after a storage period, it Polet suspended operations on 24 November 2014. It was still on register by 30 March 2021 and offered for sale by the Collaterised Property Agency (TsAZI) for US$ 6.8 million. Current state?

This Beech was delivered as a C-12R in late 1995, it was converted to C-12R+, served the Arizona Army National Guard OSACOM Det.31 up to 2005, and was converted to C-12V in mid to late 2008.
