This aircraft was delivered to BOAC on 18th October 1949 as "Aeolus" and was used on the East African royal tour in April 1954. It was sold to the Royal Rhodesian Air Force in December 1959 as serial 179, later changed to 600-M and VP-YZM. Restored as G-ALHW to Air Links Ltd. in July 1964 ownership was transferred to Transglobe Airways Ltd. in August 1965. In October 1965 it was ferried to Redhill and then to Castle Donnington in March 1966 where it was broken up to provide spares for the British Midland Airways Canadair fleet. The aircraft was withdrawn from use and dismantled at Prestwick in June 1967.

With DC-3 PH-DAC behind. Later 5N-ACJ and G-ARTS. Damaged beyond repair when it was hit by another aircraft on the ground on 22nd February 1975

On detachment from Malta. 'Heron' squadron marking on nose. Converted to AEW.2. Preserved at Newquay A/P.

VIP fit. Named "Meghaduta II" in English and Hindi underneath cockpit window. Arr.1140. Night stopover leaving at 1030 on the 1st. Used entire runway length to get airborne, no doubt due to all of the solid oak panelling used in the cabin! The RAF left in 1971 when the "Trucial States" became the United Arab Emirates, the airfield becoming the Emirates International Airport until the new one was opened in 1977. King Abdul Aziz Street is built on the old runway. The ATC, a hangar and the old fort used by Imperial Airways are now incorporated in the "Al Mahatta" museum.

Photo shows the timber Hangar No.1 which was occupied by the Department of Transport. This pre-war hangar is now gone. It was a short distance east of the arched 1931 hangar now known as Hangar No.1.

CF-HXX was sold in Australia as VH-SYS in 1988.

CF-JLI was registered in Canada in 1957.

CF-KKF was sold in the US as N13122 in 1967. Note that the aircraft is fitted with Lycoming engines.

CF-CRZ was sold in the US as N100MA in 2006.
