First flying on August 8, 2020, N777XY was the third of the new Boeing 777-9 series aircraft. Stored for a time at Victorville CA circa 2021, it's pictured returning from a five hour Boeing test flight along the coast of Washington, Oregon and California. It is scheduled to be delivered to Lufthansa in 2026 after the type's delayed certification.

The first of two prototypes built. It was Boeing's entrant into the United States Air Force's Advanced Medium STOL Transport (AMST) competition. First flew in 1976. Testing was completed in 1977 and it was returned to Boeing as N8730B. Stored at Davis-Monthan AFB, AZ in 1980. To the museum in 1981.

Placed on display as recently as May 2024, this was Boeing entry in the Joint Strike Fighter contest started in 1996 and ultimately won by Lockheed Martin's X-35 and developed into the F-35. It was never given USAF markings, remaining in Boeing's ownership

This aircraft used the JPA ramp to stage from as it flew some weight & balance profiles into W-291 off the coast

Will be registered as B-225R for Hainan Airlines.

Delivered to Faucett as OB-R-902 in 1968. To Boeing as N32720 in 1985. Fitted with an unducted fan engine for testing in 1986. Note dual Boeing / GE titles on the tail. The UDF technology was not proceeded with. I remember it was very noisy. Stored at Mojave from 1987. Used for a crash sequence in the 1991 film Hero in Midwestern colours with fake reg N88892.

Boeing 707 used as a demonstrator. In 1969 the aircraft was sold to Varig as PP-VJH. The is no location at the slide, but with all those 707 and 727 airframes in the picture Renton is a probable contender. photographer unknown

The UH-60 and the AH-64 won, the UH-61 and the AH-63 lost and it seems their manufacturers like to forget about these loser designs. One prototype of a civilian variant of the H-61 was built. It reportedly first flew on 5 August 1975, but was already on display at the Paris Air Show in June. Petroleum Helicopters took options on 28 aircraft, but Boeing cancelled the type after it failed to win military orders. A naval variant, the Model 237, lost out to the SH-60 and was never built. The Boeing Vertol YUH-61 was the runner-up in the US Army's UTTAS competition for a UH-1 replacement, losing out to the Sikorsky S-70. Three military prototypes were built for evaluation and one Model 179 civil demonstrator, which is shown here at the 1975 Paris Air Show. The type was not proceeded with.
