Delivered to the Nigeria Air Force as NAF 901 in 1972. To Nigeria Airways as 5N-ANL in 1976. Sold as N4449D in 1983 then to Conair as C-GSFS in 1985 and converted to a firebomber. Destroyed in a fatal crash into trees north of Alès, France while on a fire fighting mission for the Securite Civile in 1989.

A welcome visitor to Brisbane. Unfortunately the aircraft crashed into trees while in service near Arles, France on 4 September 1989.

This former Nigerian Air Force and Nigerian Airways F-27 was bought by Conair November 1985. They developed a tanker conversion for the F-27, but only two were converted. Conair later decided on the Convair 580 to be their main medium turbo-prop. C-GSFS was lost September 4, 1989 fighting a fire in France with the Securité Civile.
