Delivered new in 1958 then went to Lufthansa as D-ACAT in 1961. On 28 January 1966 the aircraft stalled and crashed with the loss of 46 lives during a missed approach at Bremen (EDDW).

Here on delivery ferry, it later became 57-111 with the Pakistan Air Force, then was preserved at Karachi.

Initially operated by BOAC from 1949 to 1956, then it went to Airwork from 1956 to 1959 and here in service with Bournemouth based Falcon Airways from October 1959 to December 1960. Next it flew with Air Safaris in 1960/61 then Air Links/Transglobe Airways until withdrawn from use in 1965.

Retired to the Luftbrücke Museum (Berlin Airlift Memorial) painted with true original serial 44-9063, see Photo ID: 150344. (As a footnote, its line mate 44-9062 was in fact written off during the Airlift when it crashed at RAF Celle.)

Converted to DC-4 standard in 1944 and in 1962 it became 9O-PCW with the Democratic Republic of Congo Air Force. Written off in a ground collision at Leopoldville (FZAB) in June 1964.
