Despite what was written on the tail, VH-RML was not a Viscount 832 but an ex-Cubana 818. Ansett-ANA took delivery of four new 832 models but all its 800 models were painted with V832 on the tail. This changed when VH-RMI crashed in September 1966 and the fin, with V832 on it, was the only recognisable part of the wreckage. The rest of the fleet rapidly became Viscount IIs. On delivery to South African from Cubana in that airline's livery. On 13 March 1967 the aircraft came to grief while operating SA046 on approach to East London.

Here on delivery ferry to Cubana and in 1962 it went to Trans Australia Airlines as VH-TVR. Withdrawn from use in 1970 and put on display at the Moorabbin Air Museum.

VH-RML in the V832 Deluxe livery intended for Viscounts built for Ansett-ANA, which were model 832. -RML came from Cubana and was an 818. Ansett-ANA had reverted to calling its 810 series aircraft Viscount II by the time the type was withdrawn in 1969. -RML was sold in Taiwan in 1970.
