Despite what was written on the tail, VH-RML was not a Viscount 832 but an ex-Cubana 818. Ansett-ANA took delivery of four new 832 models but by 1962, all its 800 models were painted with V832 on the tail . This changed when VH-RMI crashed in September 1966 and the fin, with V832 on it, was the only recognisable part of the wreckage. The rest of the fleet rapidly reverted to Viscount II, which was the original marketing name in the late 1950s.
