First flying in 10.62, this was the first DC-8F Jet Trader to be built. Looking splendid in her red/black livery, like so many standard DC-8s she took up a secondary career in South America when sold to ARCA Colombia (although registered HI-459) in 6.85. After a lease to Andes as HC-BMC, to Zuliana as YV-460C in 10.89 and b/u MIA 9.98

These Mexican Fairchilds have tricky histories. This one carried XC-UTD as her alternative identity (hidden behind wing in this view). It was originally destined for the Banco de Mexico as XC-COX in 1962 but not taken up and immediately transferred to the Mexican AF as AP-0204. Converted from F27F to F27J in 1978. In 1987 it became XA-MCJ of Aerocaribe. Partially scrapped at Merida 1993

In contrast to her camouflaged sister-Troopship TAM-93 which was wfu at the time, this one was active and smartly attired in the civil-style c/s. Transferred to the mainline Fuerza Aerea Boliviana in late '94 and re-serialled with the FAB prefix two years later. Had various periods of storage, but crash-landed on a road while in service between Guayaramerin and Trinidad after problems with no.1 engine on 23.7.08, causing substantial damage

WSK built about 500 of the ubiquitous Po-2 under licence between 1948 and 1956 as the CSS-13. Some served as air ambulances with a closed rear cockpit. The emblem on the tail of this one, which was available for joy flights that day, is marked with the legend "6olat wosl"
