Most Twin Otters were retired in 1995, but one soldiered on serving the small coastal community of Båtsfjord which had a gravel strip. When WF945 landed at Båtsfjord on the evening of March 31, 2000, the last commercial de Havilland Canada DHC-6 Twin Otter flight in Norway had come to pass.

Twin Otter number 734 was delivered to Calvin Cafritz Enterprises December 17, 1980. Registered N331CC for ten years of leases including Empire Airlines who had it for the summers of 1986 and 1989. The aircraft was leased to Metroflight in 1990 and registered N942MA. Sold in January 1995 to Trans Caribe Airlines in Mexico, it was last registered XA-TCF. Tragically on July 17, 1996 while operating for Aerolatino, the Twin Otter landed short at Playa del Carmen Airport, came to rest in a wooded area and was written off.

A Twin Otter delivered new to NorOntair April 1, 1977. On March 19, 1992 the pilot decided to practice a STOL take-off on an empty leg from Red Lake to Kenora. The aircraft stalled from about 150 feet and crashed heavily on the runway. The wreckage was acquired by Ashe Aircraft Enterprises and was rebuilt by 1997. The aircraft was last with Element Otter LLC [Bridger Aerospace) as N32CV from November 2020 at the time of uploading.
