Delivered to American Airlines as N7547A in May 1961 and traded in to Boeing in Feb 1963 as part of their B727 deal. To Pan Am as N780PA, sold in mid-1974 and registered N780EC for Ecuatoriana in Jan 1975. The registration HC-AZO allocated at the time of this photo was not taken up and the aircraft returned to the leasing company in Mar 1976. However in Apr 1977 after conversion to B720-023B{F) freighter configuration, it rejoined Ecuatoriana as HC-BDP and operated until wfu in May 1984. Stored at Davis-Monthan from Sep 1985 by Boeing as N720BG for KC-135 part stripping. Scrapped in 1991

At the very end of its Aer Lingus career, EI-ALA having been delivered in October 1960. The blue cheatline is leftover from a lease to Transpolar for a year from October 1970 (as LN-TUU). Previous leases were to El Al and to Braniff (N7083). Sold to Club International as N734T in October 1972, reregistered N1776Q in March 1973. Leased by Aeroamerica mid-1974 for a year, wfu and stored at Boeing Field from July 1978 and b/u November 1983

Entered service with TWA as N793TW in September 1961 on lease from Boeing and transferred to Northwest Orient as N732US a year later. Bought by Monarch in February 1972 and next to Jet 24-Jet Charter Services as N24666 in March 1983, but three months later bought back by Boeing, stripped for KC-135 parts at Davis-Monthan, hulk finally scrapped in 1991

The museum displays a large selection of military aircraft that used to be exhibited in an outdoor area that is now closed. Unfortunately, all of the aircraft are now positioned very close together, which is very challenging for photographers. In addition, over the years, a lot of material has fallen from the ceiling and accumulated on the exhibits.

A few of the large number of Boeing 707s and 720s bought by Boeing in the 1980s to facilitate the conversion of KC-135As to turbofan power. The airliners donated their engines, pylons and throttle pedestals, as well as horizontal stabilisers, all of which were needed to carry out the upgrade. In this image, taken in rather dull weather, ex-Conair 720B TF-AYB (previously OY-APW) is on the left and on the right is ex-Saudia 707 N1673B (previously HZ-ACD). Both had arrived earlier in 1987.
