First flown on 30 April 1959 and spent its career employed on various trials including gun-firing and missile programmes and the modified clipped fin later used in the Lightning F.3. It was also used as a chase plane in the TSR2 project. Retired in 1970 and allocated 8050M it was used for ground instruction by the RAF College at Cranwell until moved to RAF Swinderby c1985. When that base closed in 1994 the aircraft was bought by a member of the Norfolk and Suffolk Aviation Museum and is displayed there at time of upload.
